“To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” – Isaiah 61:3b
I am so blessed to have you join me on my new author site called Firelilies. I have created this site above all to encourage others to seek Jesus to find hope and redemption in their lives, especially after a burn. Firelilies are beautiful orange trumpet-shaped flowers that only grow after a fire. Their winged seeds are carried by the wind to be planted in the ash. It is this very ash that becomes the fertilizer for new life. Their trumpet-shaped petals bloom announcing new life amidst areas covered in cinder and ash. Isn’t this picture so representative of our lives as God often uses the ashes of pain to create soft ground where our hearts can bloom again? Then, like the seeds during the period of germination, there is a waiting period of recovery before our hope is restored. But once again, it bursts forth shouting of God’s great love and rebirth. I hope you will join me on my blog where we can consider the many instances where God’s grace brings us beauty through the aftermath of difficult and even devastating circumstances. My prayer is that this will be a place of community for emotional and physical healing from pain where together we can recognize God’s mercy and grace.
